A guy who lived with everyone till last night is now no more – Wear Helmets

Its always said that nothing is sure the next moment and live the present as much as you can… May be fate might have decided that he should die, but he could have evaded it, if he was in control or with helmets on…  This is a post for one of my Junior who passed away miserably today in an accident. Dinesh, a student of Sri Krishna Arts and Science College, pursuing his final year resides near vadavalli, Coimbatore. He has the habit of travelling till the bus stop from his home via bikes… Recently he did purchase a new bike and no one would have expected that it would get a end to his life… According to the sources, Dinesh was on the way speeding towards vadavalli and a kid with his cycle crossed the road. Unfortunately, this kind hearted guy did not wish to bang the kid, for which he took a curve and that curve was preoccupied by a Auto. He banged into that three wheeler and was left strangling to suffer for more than 10 minutes in the middle road. It is said that no one even bothered to call an ambulance for a very long time and it was a college girl who saw this guy suffering to death and rang up her friends. After 10-15 minutes, Dinesh was rushed to a famous Private hospital here in the city…[Oh come’on… I’m not a coward to put it as private hospital, yhea.. its none other than the Merciless money sucking KG Hospitals] . The beats did not admit this poor guy as it was a ‘so called’ - “police case”, after the denial of admission he was being redirected to Coimbatore Government Hospital, when he was on the way to GH, he almost left his last heart-beat. He was taken down of the van not to the emergency ward, but to Autopsy ward.

A question arises in my mind as to “what led to the death of this young boy ?”

Is it …

A) His new bike`s josh which gave him the throttle towards death ?

B) The fact that he did not wear the helmet ?

C) The insane kid, who crossed the road without peeping into the streets ?

D) The banging three wheels wrong turn ?

E) The fact that the people stood for 10 minutes without even touching him, just because of a precaution that it would become a police case. Heartless people`s insane thinking…

F) The undeniable reason that the Private hospital rejected admission being an accident case ?

G) His fate

No use in thinking which would be answer, its not a million dollar question, but still it’s a life worth more than millions and millions to his parents, family, friends and close ones… To be in his shoes, at that fraction of second when the head was banging the tar road, the only think which one could have thought is “Cha… I could have worn that helmet and came out of my house”.

And this was a picture posted by one of his friends on Facebook who says, “hey sry to put up dis pic...but dis is dinesh's new helmet i dono wher d fuck it went wen he needed it..... plzzz guys wear helmet whereva yu go......the amount we pay is our lyf.... remember dat:(....each and everyone mean a lot....so plzzzzz!”

On account of his sad dismissal, the college was closed, GH was crowded with students, friends, relatives of Dinesh…

What would have happened if he has worn this helmet when getting off from home ????

would be sitting in some random hospital near his house after a first aid, drinking some apple juice and chatting about his heroic stunt with his new bike…

But now ???? Only his helmet is here… the guy is no more… Sad smile Sad smile Sad smile

Let his soul rest in peace…

Mobile Phones/ Smart Phones without Camera

This post is special for those who are awaiting your call letter and joining date, congrats to one and who have been successfully placed in most of the MNCs. I’m pretty sure you’ll have your hands shivering and legs running around your place to know “Wooo ! Wats gonna happen there ?”. Let me say you that its really gonna be a tough time if you aren’t really interested and joining by a external pressure. On the other hand, its gonna be a cakewalk if its out of our passion and complete interest. Make sure you have you seat belts at your job and untie it only for promotions…

Most of the Multi-National Companies as well as home-town companies have their tight security in-terms of confidentiality especially with the newbies -aka- Training Candidates. They would never allow you to use your mobile within the campus, and if at all you have one, it should be according to the standards which they specify.  The one and only rule there, “No Camera”, “No Photography”, “Cell Phones (/)”… So apparently, you are “forced” to go on with some Non-Camera mobiles…  And the first phone which would come to your mind is Nokia 1100 Smile with tongue out. Lemme say you this too, with Nokia 1100, you really are gonna become mad, unless you have some quality Smartphones or mid-budget phones, it’s a tough time. You can never search or browse over the internet to get such phones. Now diving into the topic…

Most of the phones released from the past decade are all equipped with some random cameras, starting from that of Carl-Zeus to that of the most sluggish standard-VGA Cameras. It isn’t surprising to know that even some random $ 25- $ 50 mobiles have a camera within them, hardly few know that it’s a camera and not some speaker box… If you start searching, you’ll end-up with the mind “Damn… I would never want to have a phone with me at all”, because all you would end-up is crap !…. Now I’m going to list you few of the most common and best-buy places where you can get a Good Phone with less effort of search, Hope you’ll love it… If you have any comments/ Suggestions, make your way down and post a comment, I’ll be happy to help you Smile

Nokia E51(Camera free edition):

Nokia E51 is said to be one of the best Sv60 phones in the market once up on a time, it was released in 2008 and gave a boom in 2009. After its overwhelming demand, they cameup with a Camera free edition, i.e., without camera… it was a welcomed by people like you, who wanted to have phones without camera, but wait… It has a Face-call video camera… Its actually accepted by company rules and regulations as it cannot be used to take photography, unless and untill you crack it… You can’t buy this phone today in stores or in real market, you’ve to go under-the-hood the search for it or the best place would be Ebay !

 Nokia E61:

The best choice I can give you is this master piece, released in 2005, it is being equipped with all latest features including 3G and wi-fi… It has a Non-Camera version which is being widely used by professionals in IT, who fall under your category of ‘No Cams’… !

Nokia N-Gage QD:

I’m not sure how many of you knew that one such phone existed in the yester-years` market. Say a big “miss-you” to this master piece from Nokia, infact, it was to be the PSP for many mobile loves, as it was one among the gaming series, it was without camera, but has all features.

Sony Ericsson W950:

From the hands of best camera makers in the world, a sony ericsson product without camera is like a beautiful girl without eye ! But not bad, its worth a touch, its almost very late to say ‘hi’ to W950, because its off market now !

here is a list of phones which are totally dumb, they are ultimate down to earth basic models, all you can do is tap n key some txts as well as make calls, and best to hear they’ll have all top rated songs preloaded in them like “hey Ranguthey basanthiii…”…  You’ll surely never take out that phone from your pocket for sure…

Nokia 2626:

Power Cut..,. Damn TNEB…  Cha… enna vazhlka da ithu Sad smile Sad smile Sad smile

I vote for 49-O

Image

It’s the Tamil Nadu State Elections falling this April 13th, 2011 and the stakes have gone up to the cloud on the aspects of corruptions and money lots, scams, etc… Elections did not have hope till there was this great social reformer ‘Anna hazare’, whom everyone thought can’t makeup the victory towards the LokPal bill. It’s a unbelievable surprise that the Government of India has accepted to pass this bill, and here comes the new condition of the respectful leader Anna, that the bill should be passed before August 15th, 2011 else he’ll start with his hunger strike. The man who won the hearts of millions would surely win this strive too.  It has brought fire into the young minds to form a better India literally. And seeing this we can hope for the 2020 dream come true very soon…  Lets now come back to the elections of Tamil Nadu state, where there is only two heads here. One is busy swindling cash for some xyz and the other is busy swindling cash for his ‘n’ number of families… I would like to denote a forward message which came to me this morning, which is again a election champagne,

Election campaign:
Give Narendra Modi next 5 years, he will MAKE Gujarat like Singapore…

Give XXX next 5 years, XXXXXXXXXX & family will BUY Singapore…

Seeing most of the situations and eventful propagandas going around the state, all I can say is a conversation between the parties like, “ You strip me.. I’ll strip you off too ”. None of the parties are advocating on what they’ll do after thrown, all they say is, “Vote for me, I’ll get you freebies”. My question here is, “Is this a summer bonanza offer ?”. Doesn’t seem to be a election champagne, pulling each others` legs to see who is surviving till the last poll to drop into the ballet. And once the elections are over u can’t see them with the public for another 1826 days…

Are you not willing to vote for anyone standing in your region for this election ? Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section " 49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!

How does this 49-O actually work  ?

Say that there are 1000 votes in your region, and there are two parties standing for this election, so the winning criteria is 51% of the total vote casted in the particular region. And to the dismay of the election system, only 50% of the people turnup for an vote casting…

image

So out of 1000 votes only 500 is being casted truly, so a part would win if it gets more than 251 votes… And does that mean, all 1000 votes like that winning party ? Definitely not ! there is a majority of 749 people who hate him, after the elections you can’t open your mouth for other 5 years, So better speakout now…!

So, what will happen if I put a 49-O ?

image

1. Even if the party get 26% and above, it can’t win just because the majority goes to 49%- 49-O. And the same wins, the election is considered null and void. There will be a re-election proposed.

2. There are also talks that all the contestants who participated In that election would be disqualified for future elections, which is totally senseless and untrue.

The Hindu, one of the famous newspapers in India says,

“The Bench said in addition to this arrangement, the authorities should also make the public aware of Rule 49-O by publishing it in two English newspapers and two Tamil newspapers having wide circulation throughout the State.”     But, unsure whether it was all the words which mixed with the polluted air riding the city roads…

Now the question comes like this, “Whats the difference between I won’t vote and I vote for 49-O, both are same right ?”.

They both aren’t the same ! There are chances of your non-vote being tampered and used by the dominating party, not in terms of words but my goondaism.

Will my single 49-O count ?

Are you kidding me with this question ? Obviously Yes! When a each and every vote for an individual counts for a contesting nominee, the same does happen for 49-O.

What is the Procedure to vote for 49-O ?

Voting for 49-O is very easy, all you need to do is, once you’ve verified your identity to the election officer sitting in the front desk, he’ll give you a slip to be signed, now all you need to say him is, “I’m opting for 49-O”. He’ll give you the register where you signed, you need to sign again in the next column writing as “49-O” and give it back. Its was never as simple as that.

Will voting 49-O be of any issue for you ?

Its to be one of the trickiest question. The option of 49-O, has not yet been embedded into the polling machines. You don’t have an button to do it, the election commission has been very serious on not putting it into the ballot. Instead it has given the option to write. But the problem here is, there is no secrecy of your cast. Each and everyone inside that room will know what you are doing, and apparently they’ll very well know that you’ve opted for 49-O. Which might at-times create few issues or litigations if you go out of the polling booth. But

49-O

To be updated very soon… Current Failure ! ! ! Damn TNEB ! Sad smile

My favorite memory from one of the Tech.Eds I ever attended

It’s the 10th of April, 2010, where I got a mail from Microsoft stating that I’ve been invited for the Microsoft Tech.Ed 2010 at Bangalore, which is to happen from April 12th to 14th. I wasn’t quite surprised as the invite was for the Top 25 Microsoft Student Partners in our country. Few people might very well know that I participate in almost all tech competitions and “Tech.Ed Blogathon” was one such competition which I wished to participate and so did I. During one of my DreamSpark Yatra Session at a college in Salem, TamilNadu. I got a call from a Bangalore number and I was surprised to receive it from end2end, the technical support for Microsoft`s Tech.Ed Event for that particular year, stating that I was awarded the best Blogger for 2010 and I’ve been also provided with  free professional entry ticket for Tech.Ed 2010. Smile I showed my sincere gratitude for the offer, but was destined to go as a MSP for the Tech.Ed Event. But this time I’m seriously looking forward for BLOGATON, the annual blogging event of Tech.ed India. Apparently, this is one of my entries for it…

U’ve few more interesting stuffs inside… Read More !

Running out of IP addresses… ?

“An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each device (e.g., computer, printer) participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. An IP address serves two principal functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing. Its role has been characterized as follows: "A name indicates what we seek. An address indicates where it is. A route indicates how to get there, the Wikipedia reports.

This IP addresses were having two types of addressing, its better to call it as two varieties of numbering devices:

  • IPv4 – Internet Protocol version 4
  • IPv6 – Internet Protocol version 6

oiii ! Get placed in 1 company… tat’ll do ;)

The country has been just took a deep breath after seeing the edges of Inflation at the global level. In this settling duration, numerous number of companies have started their hunt for employees for their MNC firms at a very large level. Placements rates have gone up from 8% to 25% this year… The opening-up of  tidel park in coimbatore is an added feature to this cause. Exposure level of the students have gone up and the stakes are too rising from the companies side, the MNCs really expect a quality and quantity simultaneously.

You might think what the heck I’m talking here… Its about the placements exactly ! All the colleges and universities have a catchy word at their advertisements as “100% placements” and for that only reason all the final year students are being tortured to get placed, even if they aren’t interested. Now lets not debate inside on the advantages and disadvantages of the  Multi-placements.

Deloitte off-campus recruitment at PSG College

21st January, 2011…The day started with the scolding from ma mom for getting late in the morning energized by her subrabatham ‘study’ ‘study’ ‘study’. Got a wakeup call from one of my friend Mr.Vikram of CTS, stating tat there is a recruitment at PSG College of Arts and Science and this time, he forgot to bring his files for the off-campus.  I started from my house again getting a scolding and a great motivation from my mom, as “இத்தன placements attend பன்னுரையே, ஏதாவது ஒரு company`ல place ஆணிய?”. That was really soooo motivating for me Smile with tongue out  Took my 1000 x 10-1 CC Bike pushed it to the full throttle and rushed to the placement drive. It was good to see a massive crowd of 700 people attending that campus drive and to my greater surprise, most of the attendees were Krishna College students.

Gotta celebrate a Eco-Friendly Diwali henceforth !

It was a Cloudy Friday morning on the 5th November of 2010. Yhea… it was the “Diwali” Celebrations, the festiv of lights gave me a wakeup call early morning with a hyper sounding 1000 Wala crackling my ears, it wasn’t pleasant though… A days’ good start was with my resolution as to “Celebrate a Eco-Friendly Diwali”. As per which, I’d to escort my sibling to near by temple and do some rituals. I was over my laptop all day and couldn’t do any of my programming work as the crackers hit my concentration a lot and trust me, it had a very bad impact… Over here, in todays post i’ll like to talk about my city which has just passed 80 min since diwali.

Coimbatore – A city where ‘Eco-Friendly’ products have just given its lick, When it has not yet realized the importance and the need for the change. A city where people are busy doing nothing, but just watching over other people do something which is nothing.

Installing .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows Mobile

It was hard for me with my new Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro on HTC to work most of the latest applications which required .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed before it could initialize. Browsing all over the web i could find only Microsoft Download links which gave me way to download the compact framework and install them on a PC, but none of the sites all over the searches on bing/Google paved me way for it. Now after a long try, i found a method to install it in a safe way.

Requirements:

      @   Windows Mobile

@   Windows Mobile Device Center installed on your PC.

@   A backup software module of your firm, “sprit 1.7” in my case.

Steps to be followed:

@   Connect your Windows Mobile to your PC

@ Download the installation file from

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E3821449-3C6B-42F1-9FD9-0041345B3385&displaylang=en

@ double click to install, Click on next, Accept the Terms n Conditions, Click on Modify, as shown in the below pic, select the deployment and click on next.

Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5 - Setup Wizard

@ Once the deployment is selected, the Installer will extract a .CAB file to the Windows Mobile via Windows Mobile Device Center, check your phone for updates, it will ask for password and a Install option for .NET Framework Compact.

@ Now its all done, share your comments n enjoy .NET ;)

Metadata: There is more in your photos than meets the eye!

I came accross an marvellous post made by Mr.Ludwig J. at http://ludwigjkeck.spaces.live.com/. I would like to quote the same here.

More info and Comments can be viewed at http://ludwigjkeck.spaces.live.com/

In addition to the actual picture, photo files contain a lot of other information. It is like a little notebook with preprinted boxes for all sorts of information. The general term for that is “metadata”. Some of that information is obvious, the file name, date, file size, and more. Other data is more obscure. In this post I will explore some of that information. When a digital photo is taken, the majority of modern cameras store some data along with the image. This is known by the name “EXIF” data - “Exchangeable Image File Format”. When the photos are transferred to a computer this data is moved along. Using Windows Live Photo Gallery for making the transfer provides for attaching additional information at that time. Much more data can be added with other equipment or programs. To illustrate this I will use a photo for which I have “filled in” a lot of the data – by no means all that can be added. When the photo is selected in Photo Gallery the Info pane displays some of that data:
image
Windows Live Photo Gallery makes extensive use of “tags” for managing and finding photos. The Info pane shows “People tags” – none in this case, “Descriptive tags” that have been assigned either in the import operation or manually later. For this picture two tags are shown, there is a scroll bar to allow displaying additional tags. Also shown is the file “Caption” which in other applications may be called “title”. The Information portion provides the file name and details, the rating that is assigned, the “Author” and some of the camera data. Cameras assign file names, during import that can be changed. I like to retain the file name assigned by the camera. In this case that name was appended with “(2)” when I made a copy of the file.
To see more of the data, right-clicking the thumbnail and selecting “Properties” – then the “Details” tab, brings up a long list of information. Here are a couple of screen shots:
image
image
Notice the top section, “Description” includes the “title”, a “subject” – which can, of course be different from the title, the rating, tags and this can be quite a lengthy list and “Comments”. Comments can be added manually and may be quite long. Many cameras allow the user to define a comment string which is then recorded with each picture. This is what I did in this case. The next section, “Origin”, gives some data, author, and copyright, that was manually added or by a specialized program, and the automatically logged “date taken” and the name of the program that was last used to manipulate the photo, in this case Windows Live Photo Gallery. The “Image” section shows automatically generated data, as does the “Camera” and “Advanced photo” sections.
There is more, scrolling down reveals the “GPS” and “File” sections. The “file” section provides information about the name, location, and other parameters of the file pertaining to the local computer.
image
The GPS section shows the geographic coordinates of the location where the picture was take. Some cameras have built-in GPS receivers and can do this “geotagging” automatically. With some, an external GPS receiver can be attached. Many GPS units can transfer location data to pictures with special software. There are also applications that make adding this data manually rather easy.
The Properties dialog accessed inside Windows Live Photo Gallery is the same as what is obtained in Windows Explorer. The details pane in Windows Explorer also shows some of this data:
image
There is even more data stored. Some special programs permit displaying more of this information.
I want to show a couple of examples of how some of this information is used.
The Flickr photo sharing site serves photo enthusiasts for displaying, sharing, and finding photos. Since camera data shows the details of how the photo was taken, shutter speed, aperture, etc. that information can be a valuable learning tool. Flickr thus provides just about all the data that is embedded within a photo. Here is how this picture is shown on Flickr (the image provides a link to the page on flickr):
image
In the lower right there is a “More properties” link – and does it ever provide more:
image
And more:
image
Note that in this list (which is shown just partially) there is location information, website of the author, even the author’s e-mail address. Here I am using the demonstration address used in my book, Digital Pictures Basics. (Mail sent to this address is not forwarded to me.)
Another sharing site, picasaweb, makes good use of the location information (the image provides a link to the picasaweb page).
image
Note the little map in the lower right. It shows where the picture was taken. The “View album map” link is even more fun:
image
image
It shows little thumbnails of the pictures in the album, placed on the map in the locations where the pictures where taken -  the map can be zoomed and manipulated. Clicking on a thumbnail shows a larger picture.
So there is a lot of information that can be attached to photos and used in many fun and valuable ways. In another post I will discuss how to add, delete, and manage this “metadata”.
If you would like to explore the flickr or picasaweb images, click on the first image in each sequence above.
Here are some links to additional information about adding data from my other blog posts:

Youtube – Change language from Hindi to English

Right from my childhood, I never liked Hindi and the Hindi Speaking people mainly because I don’t know HINDI. This may sound weird, but true. The Indian Youtube version was out and similar releases were made to most of the local hubs of internet word in countries and based upon the location, the language settings were made, without any prior notice, i repeat “NO PRIOR NOTICE”. It was a horror time for me to find out how to change the homepage from Hindi to English. Follow the steps below and enjoy the IPL telecasted over it.

1.Go to http://www.Youtube.com/ , so that the regional settings of youtube will be transferred to main control.

hindi

2.Now Scroll down to the bottom of the page and see the youtube copyright symbol.

Oracle 11g 64-Bit on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit

This day morning I upgraded my existing 64 bit vista ultimate install. That way I already had Oracle loaded and just needed to get it running.
It took several hours to do the upgrade. An install would probably have run much faster and I would have started off with a clean registry but I was afraid the Oracle installer would say it didn't recognize this version of windows and then I wouldn't be able to get it running (at least not without jumping through a bunch of hoops).
The install, while taking a long time, was flawless at the end. I had to uninstall skype and powershell because of incompatibilities. Skype was a recommendation but powershell was required. Considering the vast amount of software I have installed, I am surprised that is all I had to remove.

I had a few issues with TNS at first but I was able to fix that by fixing my hosts file. After that, the database is running fine (as you can see in the screenshot above). I created a few objects and ran a few queries and everything is hunky dory.
I did get a warning message when running SQL Developer:

Nothing I can't live with. I'm not sure if that is just a Java issue or something with SQL Developer specifically. I plan to play with it some more this afternoon to find out.
So far, I haven't found the OS to be that much different than vista. Some user tweaks in UAC. You can set the screen resolution with a single menu click now. It does feel quite a bit quicker response-wise though. I may just be psyching myself out on that though.
Rather than regurgitate a windows 7 feature list, go check out what Microsoft has to say on the issue.

I guess now it is off to play!

Fake Mails made easy ! Kudos to spoofing

It had been a week since a MSP posted about a issue that he got a mail from Mr.BillGates congratulating him for his work. Funny ! I decided to make a post on it and make some joy out of it. Do you wish to play pranks sending emails from a friend’s id? Here is how you go about doing it. It’s pretty much simple, all you need to do is go to the website, and there is a send-fake-email form where in you fill the from name, from address, to name, to address and then go about writing an email like you normally would do.

DeadFake

dead-fakeDeadFake allows you to edit all ‘from’ and ‘to’ details before sending the email. It’s very quick and very easy. You don’t have to connect to the SMTP port of the site, issue commands and then send the email. Everything is done just like filling up an online form. One drawback being there is sentence at the bottom of the email sent which reads “No, this email’s not real, it’s http://deadfake.com”, but these things mostly go unnoticed when the recipient reads the email because even emails sent from yahoo usually have a link underneath which is usually not noticed by the reader.

Anonymous Speech

anonymous-speechAnonymous speech is also similar to DeadFake, here again the details can be edited before sending. But added to this you can set the date and time for sending the fake email and you could also send it to multiple recipients (up to 15). But before sending, you need to do a small sign-up with the website. But you needn’t worry; email address in the sign-up is only optional, just to trace your password.

Send Fake Mail

send-fakeA website that offers proper fake email sending without allowing the recipient trace the origin of the email. You can easily change the ‘from’ details so that the receiver thinks it’s from someone else. Added to this the service also offers Anonymous Browser, a utility that lets you browse the internet without revealing your correct IP address by creating a fake IP for you.

Services offered are:

  – Anonymous Emailing
  – Fake Emails
  – Text & HTML Mail
  – Priority Support
  – X-Mailer Header
  – Anonymous Surfing

But all this is not free, available to you at very minimal charges of $4.95/ month

Fuzz Mail

fuzz-mailAnother service that could be used is Fuzzmail. Here again the ‘from’ and ‘to’ ids can be given by the user. But this not a normal fake email sending, but a service which records the act of typing and lets you send that as an email. The receiver gets to know at what point of time when typing your letter there has been a pause, or typos errors, write overs etc. This is greatly made to send those love letters to the loved ones so that receiver can get to actually feel the writing happening.

Note : Never ever try to trouble anyone, you may fall in some sort of legal problems. The use of these services is completely up to you and use them at your own risk only.

XP mode no longer requires hardware virtualization

I’d like to share some exciting news about Windows XP Mode.  The team is removing the virtualization processor requirement for Windows XP Mode on Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate systems.  Windows XP Mode continues to use hardware virtualization such as Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT) or the AMD-V™ chipset when available but it no longer requires them.
Microsoft has released an update that enables PCs without hardware virtualization to also take advantage of Windows XP Mode.  This change simplifies the customer experience and makes this benefit accessible to many more PCs.
Enterprise customers should consider using Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V), part of the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack for Software Assurance.  MED-V provides deployment and manageability features which are designed to address the needs of enterprise customers.
When will this happen?
The removal of this requirement has been publicly announced today, March 18th 2010 with the update available on the Windows XP Mode download page at the same time.
How does this impact MED-V?
MED-V 1.0 SP1 builds on Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 to help enterprises with their upgrade to Windows Vista and Windows 7 when applications are not yet compatible.
MED-V 1.0 SP1 does not require hardware virtualization.
The user experience provided by MED-V is similar to “Windows XP mode” – even though a different virtualization technology is used.
MED-V 2.0 will leverage Windows Virtual PC and will benefit from the update above. Availability date for MED-V 2.0 is yet to be announced.
